Questions

How do you tell a client something is out of scope?
Say yes to the work and name what it changes. "I can do that - it adds about a day, so it would be an extra X" keeps the relationship intact while protecting the timeline.
How do you ask a client for a referral?
At the end of a project that went well, once, and specifically. A vague "let me know if you know anyone" gets forgotten before they close the message.
