A keyboard that can read what you type is a fair thing to worry about, so: nothing you type on the Fast Reply keyboard is logged or sent anywhere. It works fully offline, with no Fast Reply account for personal use, and your library lives on your device rather than our servers. Turn on iCloud sync (Pro) and it syncs through your own iCloud, under your Apple ID - still never our servers. Aside from that optional sync, replies leave your phone only when you share a folder, and only the ones you choose to share.

Full Access is optional
Inserting text doesn't need it. iOS only asks for Full Access if you want to send an image or file from the keyboard, or use the clipboard placeholder.

Secure fields stay Apple's
iOS blocks every third-party keyboard in password and payment fields. That's by design, and it's the right design - your own keyboard comes straight back.

Questions people actually ask
What is a text expander on iPhone, exactly?
Anything that turns something short into something long. iOS has a built-in version (Settings › General › Keyboard › Text Replacement) that swaps an abbreviation for a phrase. Fast Reply works the other way round: your replies sit on the keyboard as labelled keys, so you tap the one you want instead of remembering a code.
Can I get my snippets onto the iPhone keyboard itself?
Yes - that is what a custom keyboard is. Once Fast Reply is enabled in Settings, your snippets are one tap away in Messages, Mail, WhatsApp, Instagram, Slack or a browser form, with no per-app setup.
Can I type a shortcut and have it expand, like a text expander?
Yes. Give a reply a short trigger - say omw or addr - and type it on Fast Reply’s typing keyboard. It expands into the full reply where your cursor is, and if the reply has blanks it asks for them next. You can still browse and tap a reply when you’ve forgotten its shortcut. Autotext expansion is a Pro feature; the typing keyboard itself is free.
Is what I type private?
Yes. Your replies live on your phone, not on our servers, so we never see them. There is no Fast Reply account to create for personal use, nothing you type on the keyboard is logged, and nothing is transmitted or tracked. Turning on iCloud sync (Pro) and sharing a folder are the only times anything leaves your phone - and iCloud sync goes to your own iCloud under your Apple ID, never to our servers.
Why does my third-party keyboard keep turning off?
Usually it did not turn off - one of three things happened. A major iOS update reset the enabled-keyboards list, or you tapped into a secure field (passwords, payments) where iOS blocks every third-party keyboard by design, or the extension was terminated for memory. The fix is different for each.
What is wrong with Apple’s built-in Text Replacement?
Nothing, for short strings - it is free and already there. It stops at four walls: abbreviation-only so nothing is browsable, one flat list with no folders, nothing in it can be variable, and no way to attach anything or share a set with a colleague.
Can my team answer from the same replies?
Today, hand any folder over as a private link - whoever opens it gets the whole folder, and installing a shared folder is free (creating the link is Pro). A shared team library - one library up to five people answer from, kept current by one person - is built and coming soon.
Is there a set of templates I can start from?
