What’s new in Fast Reply 2.0

2.0 is the release where Fast Reply stops being a list of saved messages and starts being a library you can actually run a business out of.

Everything below is in the app now, with one exception that is marked as such: shared team libraries, which are built but not yet available. Your existing replies stay exactly as they were - there is nothing to migrate and nothing to re-file.

Fill-in-the-blank fields

The headline change. A saved reply can now contain blanks, and Fast Reply asks you what goes in each one at the moment you insert it:

Hi [name] - confirming [day] at [time]. I’ll send the address the morning of.

One reply now covers every appointment you will ever book, instead of ten near-identical copies that all need editing when something changes. And because the blank is a real field rather than a note to yourself, a message can’t go out with [name] still sitting in it.

Greeting, date, time and clipboard continue to resolve on their own, and your own details - name, business, phone - now come from a profile you fill in once.

You can hand any folder to anyone with a private link. Whoever opens it gets the whole folder in their own app - installing a shared folder is free, and the recipient doesn’t need Pro or an account. The link is anonymous and expires after 48 hours; creating one is a Pro feature.

Shared team libraries - built, coming soon

The bigger version is on the way but not available in the app yet: one continuously-synced library that up to five people answer from. One person owns the wording, everyone answers with it, and when it changes it changes for everybody at once.

This was the most-requested thing by a distance, and always for the same reason: two people answering the same question from two private copies in Notes, drifting apart over months. iCloud sync, with version history

Your library on every device. Earlier versions of a reply are kept, so editing one is no longer a one-way door - which will matter even more once a team is editing shared wording.

Attachments

Pin a logo, a price sheet or a link to a reply. A link inserts inline with the text; an image or file is copied to your clipboard from the keyboard so you can paste it in, instead of hunting for it as a second message thirty seconds later.

AI Assist

Reword a reply warmer, shorter or more polished in one tap. It runs on device on supported iPhones, so the text doesn’t leave the phone to be fixed.

Deliberately narrow: it edits the reply you already wrote. It is not a chatbot that invents what you meant to say.

Smart collections and batch tools

Rules instead of filing - recently used, most used, everything matching a term - plus batch operations for reorganising a library that has grown past the point of doing it one reply at a time. Folders now nest, too.

What hasn’t changed

Text insertion still needs no Full Access. Still only for sending images or files and the {{clipboard}} placeholder. Why, in detail.
The free tier still covers using and sending every reply already in your library.
If you had Fast Reply before Pro existed, your text replies stay unlimited to create and edit, free, permanently. The newer capabilities - autotext, AI, sync, attachments - are Pro, added on top rather than taken away.
